Rabbits

Dark is the land where walks a sullen man, a mountainous trail guiding his plan. He comes at least around a bend in the gulley, a field before him his heart to sully. Coming upon a pair of rabbits, he bends down to gawk at their stalwart positions. Like breathing hearthstones they betray no emissions, and he suddenly joins their sentries’ habits. Such is the fate of all who go yonder, thinking it’s safe to stare and ponder. It is not, my good man, those rabbits are evil. They stare like Medusa, it’s clearly primeval. I’d warn you not to walk that plain, but in honest truth I’m already insane. My whole village has fallen for their treacherous swap. They’re all bunnies now, to here, now, they hop.

    1. Right click the comic to, perhaps, make the it more chilling. The images always have poetry to enhance or tell the rest of the story. I didcovered this, recently, and am glad I did.

  1. It reminds me of “Letter to a Young Lady in Paris”, written by Julio Cortázar

  2. I believe this is a sly joke about how fast rabbits reproduce. They have come meaning, insemination.

  3. Now that I have discovered, the image captions, I have to say: You could be a published poet, Cale. Truly!
