Dog gone

She was 16 years old,
When the day finally came,
When the meds could not help her,
And the pain was the same.
We went to the vet,
And cuddled her sweetly,
It was the last time for us,
To love her completely.
Now she is gone,
Skyward like a pixie,
I miss my dog,
I miss my dog Dixie.
