Appeal

Everyone was quite as the bailiff called in the judge, not a peep from the defendant, nor his mother’s crying smudge. ‘The honorable judge Cavendish presiding” said the bailiff out loud. The judge took his seat, and the bailiff left and bowed. “I have made my decision,” said the judge right away. The defendant looked tired, and stood with a sway. “Appeal denied!” Cried Cavendish with force. And the bailiffs approached the defendant to remove the yellow source. Off came the peel, and the defendant drooped his head. That’s what you get when your potassium’s too high in lead.
