New beginning

Sometimes heartbreak and tragedy come too soon, when a loved one won't ever see another moon. Whether you believe in something beyond this plane, apathy for loss is impossible to feign. Perhaps when we die what happens is just, that whatever we believed comes to be as it must. So she takes the ashes of her father at hand, mixes them into a planter stand, adds a few seeds and waters them then, and waits for growth she knows not when. When finally it peeks and reveals a flower, she sheds a tear for life's great power. I'd like to believe that life finds a way, to persevere, to emerge a new day.

Wait a minute, you there. I'm a flower, not a bear? Why couldn't I have reincarnated into something more resilient, like a blue whale and a Swede so brilliant?
